Kim Philips is putting "Education First"

My name is Kim Philips and I am excited to announce that I am running for one of the three available seats on the Dover Board of Education.

I have been a Dover resident for over 15 years and have been an active participant in the Dover schools and community. I am the proud mother of 2 children educated in the Dover School District: My son, Jordan, a 2019 Dover High School graduate who just started his senior year at the University of Delaware and Faith, a 10th grader at Dover High School.

I have a history of working with and supporting the children of Dover. I was a Girl Scout Troop Leader for 6 years and I have been a member of the East Dover PTA for over a decade, holding a number of officer positions. I have spent a significant amount of time volunteering with Dover Recreation and High School sports programs, including football, cheerleading, basketball, track, and little league. I attend concerts, plays, musicals, dance recitals, art shows – anything I can to show support for our Dover students.

I received my undergraduate degree in Psychology and Human Resources from Upsala College and my Masters of Science degree in Management from Centenary College. I have been a paralegal for Party City Corporation for the last 16 years.

I served as a Dover Board of Education member from 2017 through 2019 and was appointed to the Board in January 2022. During my time as a Board Member, I have served on the Negotiations, Community Relations and Policy committees. I have established relationships within the district which will allow me to continue working effectively with our administration and other board members as we strive to make the school district the best it can be for all of our students. I would like to continue to help and be involved in the process of seeing OUR school system prosper.

Please tell your friends and neighbors about my campaign and feel free to invite them to this page. As always, please feel free to reach out directly to me with any questions, comments or concerns.

Thank you for your support!

Jaclyn Viveros is Putting "Education First"

My name is Jaclyn Viveros, and I was born and raised in Dover. After graduating from Dover High School, I attended Dover Business College and obtained a diploma in word processing. In 2018 I graduated cum laude from Centenary University with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration with a concentration in management. I have worked with Bolttech Mannings for 25 years starting as a secretary and have moved up through the years currently serving as an operations manager.

I have been married to Kevin for 14 years and have two beautiful children Kiana, who is a Dover High School graduate and Justin, who is attending Dover High School.

I hold a very deep connection to Dover, having lived here my entire life. I have been very involved in my children’s daily lives attending different sports and other extracurricular events with them through the years. I also enjoy being involved in the community and I love to help when and where I am able. I have served as a member of the Academy Street School PTA for the last several years and currently serve as the PTA President. I continue to run multiple fundraisers for the school every year and coordinate the yearly Tricky Tray. I understood how valuable it is to raise funds for the school as they help fund yearly scholarships, teacher grants, class trips and family fun nights.

I am fearless in making a difference for the children of Dover and continue being my own children’s advocate.
